Nrityantar

Under the leadership of Artistic Director, Madhulita Mohapatra, the Nrityantar Dance Ensemble is the performing wing of Nrityantar, bringing together committed dancers united by a shared passion for Odissi and a dedication to the stage. The ensemble presents Odissi through choreographies that draw on the form’s classical vocabulary while exploring the richness of its stories, music, and expressive traditions.

Its work is marked by a strong sense of rhythm, spatial composition and expressive detail, allowing individual dancers to come together as a cohesive whole. The ensemble’s repertoire encompasses traditional and original works, bringing timeless themes and narratives to contemporary audiences with sensitivity and imagination.

​Over the years, Nrityantar has grown beyond Bengaluru, with its students now based in different cities across the UK, USA, Europe, Canada, Middle East, and other parts of the world. Many of them continue to stay closely connected with Nrityantar and pursue their Odissi training through regular online classes and guidance from Madhulita Mohapatra.
